Hugo W. Merida:
Mr. Merida has an unparalleled record of
leadership and achievement with a deep commitment to business and
community Service. He has been the President and CEO of Los Angeles
Metropolitan Hispanic Chambers of Commerce sing 2000. His track Record
and accomplishments meet the high standards that are required to serve
as a California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Vice-Chair for the
Southern Region. Mr. Merida graduated from
Guatemala Commercial Science School as a Public Accountant and attended
California State University majoring in Business Administration. He has
been a practicing accountant, by trade for more than thirty years. He
has played a key role in promoting foreign trade in addition to
sponsoring investment projects between California and Latin America.
These accomplishments paved the way for the signing of Mutual
Cooperation Agreement between the Federation of Central
American Chambers of Commerce (FECAMCO) on the year 2000. He was a
former President and
Founder of the Guatemala California Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Maria Luisa Vela:
Mrs Vela has been working since 1977 in real estate
management and investment. She has worked with various non-profit
organizations like the El Rosario Community Center, Center del Pueblo
and Hispanic Center for Computer Literacy Action, etc, teaching
English/Spanish, Computer Classes, Youth at Risk programs, Cultural and
Children events and support services. She has also assisted in
organizing and supporting several trade shows, business round table
meetings, conferences and commercial mission for the Central American
community in California and Central American Region. She is presently
the Executive Secretary of Central American Relief Foundation, Central
American Chambers of Commerce, California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce
and Alameda Merchants Alliance. She attended West L.A. Business and Real
Estate College and Lamlaw Real Estate School for her real estate
license.
